In "The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol" the story focuses on Carol's search for Daryl, who finds himself in France at the beginning of the first season.
Carol is once again portrayed by Melissa McBride, with Norman Reedus reprising his role as Daryl. The cast also includes Clémence Poésy, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Laika Blanc-Francard, and Manish Dayal.
The series was developed by David Zabel, known for "ER", and is based on the graphic novels by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard.
After his departure from the Commonwealth, Daryl Dixon washes ashore in France and must figure out how he got there and why. His arrival in France draws the wrath of the leaders of a fractured but growing autocratic movement in Paris and puts a young boy in danger, who is at the center of a benevolent religious movement called the Union of Hope. Daryl agrees to accompany the child and his caretakers on their pilgrimage to the Nest, a sanctuary promising safety, and in return, receives the Union's help to return to America. Along the way, Daryl's unwavering desire to return home is complicated by the new relationships he forms and the newfound sense of hope these relationships give him.
